Directions

1Makes 1 doz. 1” thick Pre-heated oven 450°F

2Stir together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening to make course pea size pieces. Mix in sour cream and milk until well combined.

3Turn biscuit dough out onto lightly floured Dough E-Z mat.  (sprinkle about a tsp. of flour) Cover and roll out to desired thickness. Suggestion: for thicker biscuits. I stack guide sticks together or assemble pastry frame. If stacking guide sticks, wrap them in a piece of cellophane to prevent them from separating. Place sticks on counter surface and place mat on top. This will secure guide stick in place and prevent them from slipping. It also makes for E-Z clean up as the guide sticks did not touch food.

4Transfer to baking sheet brush with melted butter.

5Bake for 15 minutes.

Ingredients

4 cups flour

2 Tbs. Baking powder

1 Tbs. sugar

1 1/2 tsp salt (reduce to 1 tsp if using 1/2 cup of butter)

1 cup of shortening (or 1/2 cup of shortening and 1/2 cup of butter)

1/2 cup of sour cream

1 cup of milk.
