Dough EZ has changed my life! I am an accomplished home cook and baker. People have even paid me for my wares. However, rolling pins and I have never really gotten along well. I have purchased every style rolling pin there is. I have used Silpat mats. And rolling guides. I've tried to be friends, really I have. But they were all, clearly, on the same mission - to make my life difficult. Sure, we could come to an uneasy cease fire to roll out some cookie dough every now and then. But it was always temporary and half the dough was sacrificed to the trash can gods in the process. I rarely even attempt pie crust anymore. (It does not end well.) Then Georgeanne of Lila Loa recommended the Dough EZ on her Cookie Blog. I was skeptical. But she has never steered me wrong before. I put my faith in her and placed my order. I'm not going to lie, after I hit the send button, I had second thoughts. I was sure it was just another gimmick-y gadget and I was just getting my hopes up, only to be disappointed... again. When my Dough EZ arrived, it took me weeks to work up the courage to try it. When I finally did, I couldn't believe it! At long last, my rolling pin(s) and I are seeing eye to eye! My cookies were all level and uniform - in record time!! My kitchen and I weren't covered in flour! There were no dough sacrifices. It's true, there was a little bit of a learning curve (which could have been alleviated some, if there had better instructions included) and I wished there were ruler guides on both sides of the mat (to make squares.) But there have been no disasters. In fact, I have so much renewed confidence, I'm going to give pie crust another try...
